Why flying is .... FUN
Going between 40 to 60 miles per hour, at low level over the bushes, the lakes and over the Botswana rivers, following the border in the jungle between Botswana and South Africa following the fences, going over the villages and wave to those who watch up and greet us with waving arms, it was great…. No….it was more than great… I can’t express it.Now I know why I love flying, the ultimate experience of flying low level in an airplane which was built in 1937, with an open cockpit and the outside temperature of 36 degrees and several times diving towards the trees which tops almost hit our wheels and over the river with less than 10 meters between the wings and the water, never in my life have I experienced something which is so beautiful, so exiting, this is the cream in life which makes you rich in experiences.
This day was special in several ways, inviting one of our hard working crew members in the Flying Club who never, ever was off the ground in and airplane before and who was also a bit afraid at the moment, I invited her -- before Bill (my Flight Instructor) arrived. Now she is asking when she can join us again. And after all that the experience with the Tiger Moth.
This week was special, very….. Specially after my grass hopping incident in the C-152, to experience the short distance between a very critical moment and the happiness I brought into two people who never had the opportunity we have daily flying.
I love the life I live and hope to live long enough to live the life I love with those I love to live with…..
